Deleting your account
Request deletion from your account page; a person completes it within five business days. What gets removed.
Request it yourself — a person completes it
Sign in and open Delete your account.
Re-enter your password, tick the box, and the request is
logged at once. Deletion is then processed by admin,
normally within five business days, and confirmed by
email.
There is still no button that deletes on the spot. That is
deliberate: the deletion is total and cannot be undone, so
a person completes it. Requests are tracked from the moment
they arrive, and the clock is visible to admin so nothing
quietly sits.
Before you ask
- Export your data first (see
Exporting your data) if
you want a copy.
- Request from Delete your account
— or email admin from the address on your account, which
still works.
- Wait for confirmation (typically 5 business days).
Admin may follow up with questions if your account has
relationships that need disentangling.
- Deletion is processed and confirmed by email.
What gets deleted
For an athlete account
- Your sign-in account and your athlete profile.
- Every activity, including the original FIT/TCX/GPX
files on disk, plus laps, segments and all derived
metrics.
- Your photo.
- Wellness logs, including any menstrual-cycle entries.
- Your intake answers — conditions, injuries, medications,
allergies.
- Races, race recaps, planned workouts, plans, availability.
- Equipment and bike change logs.
- Your consent history.
- Coach notes written about you — including notes your
coach authored. They go with your record.
- Coach relationships and premium records.
- Login-attempt records tied to your username.
The deletion runs in a single transaction: it either
removes everything or nothing.
For a coach account
- The
User row.
- The
UserProfile (coach role) row.
- Coach-owned data: notes you authored, assessments you
authored.
CoachAthleteRelationship rows: ended (the athlete
records themselves stay; only the relationship ends).
- Team assignments: ended.
What stays
- Published race results. If you raced an IRONMAN or
similar event, that result was published by the organiser
and is part of Grepiac's public results archive. Deleting
your Grepiac account unlinks the result from you but does not
un-publish it — we cannot withdraw someone else's
publication.
- Aggregate statistics that no longer identify you
(course difficulty indexes, field trends, and similar).
- Bug reports and help questions you filed, with your
user reference removed.
- A record that a deletion happened — your public ID,
the name on the request, and the dates. It holds no
training or health data, and exists so the deletion can
be proven and, if a backup is ever restored, re-applied.
How long until it is gone from backups?
Live systems: immediately. Backups age out on a fixed
schedule — our nightly database backups are kept up to
63 days, and whole-server snapshots about 10 days.
Backup files are not edited (that would compromise their
integrity); they expire. If a backup from before your
deletion ever had to be restored, the deletion is re-applied
before the system goes back into service.
What about my data on other athletes' accounts?
If you are a coach
- The CoachNotes you authored about other athletes: deleted
with you, or transferred to "[deleted user]" depending on
admin policy at the time. Notes do not auto-republish to
other coaches.
If you are an athlete
- Coach notes written about you are deleted with your
record, including ones authored by a previous coach.
Nothing needs to be requested separately.
Reactivation
Deletion is intended to be permanent. If you decide to come
back, the typical path is creating a new account from
scratch. Data restoration after a deletion is best-effort
and not guaranteed.
Premium refunds
If you have an active paid premium and request deletion
before the renewal date, you can request a prorated refund
in the same email. See
Billing and subscription
for the refund policy.
What you cannot do
- Delete just one activity via account deletion: that
is a per-activity action on the activity detail page.
- Anonymise your account without deleting it. Grepiac
does not have an anonymisation mode.
- Roll back the deletion after admin completes it.
