Three note threads on every workout, with hidden-from-athlete support for coaches.
Every scheduled workout has three note sections, designed to match the workout's lifecycle:
Athletes (free or premium) and coaches can post in any thread.
This mirrors the existing CoachNote privacy pattern: coach private working notes stay private by default; coach notes meant for the athlete are opted into visibility.
| Viewer | Sees |
|---|---|
| Coach (current relationship) | All notes on workouts for their roster athletes |
| Premium athlete (own) | Own notes + coach notes flagged visible |
| Free athlete (own) | Own notes + coach notes flagged visible |
| Free athlete (own) | Own notes + coach notes flagged visible (can post) |
| Other coaches | No access (relationship gate) |
| Admins | All notes |
On the workout detail page, scroll to the three sections. Each has an inline form: type, optionally toggle "Visible to athlete" (coach only), click Post note.
Free athletes can read notes (subject to the visibility gate) and can post notes on their own workouts. Posting a note is allowed even though free athletes cannot create, edit, or drag-move the workouts themselves.
For structured coach-only observations (limiters, season strategy, hidden interpretation), use a regular CoachNote on the athlete record instead. Workout notes are about this session.
